honestly these guys here have helped me with certain wcs issues and such. I think their entire clan is awesome.
Though say said their working on an upgrade of ES:WCS. My coders have been wanting to go to Python so we're upgrading python and found some really nice ideas that I give credit to Koshy to sparking. Certain things he's already implemented.

Now something im curious about with Python running can I increase my player slots without having any issues?
I use Quantum-servers.com. 100 Tick. I heard going above 20 slots on WCS is not a good idea, but figured i'd like the public about this :). (Yes I know I should post this in the python forum but figured WCA seems really knowledgable and answers me back fast so :).)

We run a modified ESS with 28 slots and and minimal lag issues.

Python although it has its limitations can certainly handle much more if coded correctly. What most people dont realize is crashes come as a result of incorrectly coded races or other scripts... Many scripts races have long term looping issues and other mistakes that lead to eventualk lag nad crash even if it takes 500 minutes to happen!

but the extra from py is that the part of code is only loaded in memory when called unlike ess

Actually a finely coded WCS Python could handle 64 players with no problem... but for now (sorry jeff/freddukes) it's coded like shit, every race is declaring its own event, so it's just like you're running one event (players * races) times...

Koshy, once again you like to misunderstand me, which might be not your fault.

I didn't mean in any way it was shit and/or we could do it without events.
I just said it could be done some better way, cause the point is here you exec each block many times, which is NOT needed.
I just meant you could do something like on player_spawn (having imported the race script as X) : X.spawn(ev) which would just be like executing each block once.
See the difference in my scheme:

Do you now see what i really mean?
Don't believe i say their work is shit or they are fools or etc.. MY POINT is : why anticipate some problems having 4 gb ram when you could just optimise?

Quote
How dare you call it shit, especially when you could do no better (not even close) and don't know any better.
The answer is just a bit upper, i have a better way of doing it, and SURE i don't know how to do it

You exactly know what i mean so please don't act like you're stupid. I know you aren't.
Saying the way the mod is coded is bad doesn't mean whole mod is bad!
Just like with Holliday's races.. uses a lot of es es_x, which is bad, but the race itself is good.

Don't say i said things which i DID NOT say.

Plus you are really just trying to be annoying about that.
Why don't you just say something useful/interesting about my way of seeing things?
